Foster Farmers of the Neighborhood
Beacon Hill Garden Club is gearing up for Garden Share during Beacon Arts Street Fairs four Saturdays this season beginning May 10, 2025. Club members and our neighbors will share their extra bedding plants and veggie starts. This effort to aid food security and help beautify our neighborhood. In 2024, we distributed over 17,000 plants and uncounted seeds to neighbors who were eager to learn about growing food.
To make sure we have enough plants this year, we are inviting folks to become “Foster Farmers” and raise a few extra veggie starts for the Garden Shares. Grow your own and bring the extras to swap or share at the Garden Shares May 10, June 14, August 9 and September 13, 2025. To become a Foster Farmer fill out our online form to get started. Experienced gardeners who start their own, are encouraged to bring any extra “orphans plants” to any Garden Share. If you would like to grow an extra flat or more for the Garden Shares we can help with supplies and seeds on a case by case basis.
Want to help, but not a joiner? Drop off plants and seeds anytime during the event.
